Macros and Meal Planning

I did a lot of research about flexible eating before beginning this new chapter in my life.  I was tired of carrying around this extra layer of fluff after having my daughter.  Despite changing up my eating within the confines of my strict paleo diet, I wasn’t getting the results I was looking for.  I was working my ass off in the gym and eating as strict as I possibly could but nothing was working.  Enter flexible eating.  What initially made me curious about flexible eating were the pictures of all these lean as shit girls on Instagram stuffing their faces with donuts and ice cream and I’m sitting there asking myself “how the hell are they eating THAT and still looking like THAT???”  For me, it wasn’t about donuts, but more about the idea that maybe I’m missing something in my strict paleo diet.  After getting my calorie and macro count, I finally took the plunge and committed to counting macros.  I still train the exact same as I always have, but flexible eating has given me a different way of eating that satisfies all my body’s needs in the correct proportions.

Believe me when I say my diet is super flexible, but, when on a cut and trying to lean out a bit, there isn’t a whole lot of room for donuts.  For me, flexible eating is all about how much food can I possibly shove into my mouth in one day.  That’s where it comes down to choices.  As long as food fits into my macros and calorie goal for the day, the end result is always the same.  The better food I choose to eat, the more of it I get to eat.  If I were to choose to load up on donuts and crap, the less I get to eat.  To me it’s a no brainer.  Don’t get me wrong, I definitely treat myself, but my treats are carefully thought out and fit into my macros.

My goal was to lose the baby fluff…Goal Accomplished.  I’m a little embarrassed to put these pictures out there but there’s no other way to prove that this lifestyle change is the real deal.  Below are four progress pictures for your reference to prove that flexible eating works.  The picture on top is a side by side comparison after one month of committing to flexible eating. The one on the bottom is me this morning. Sorry about the cropping, don’t want any of my students stumbling on pictures of me in my panties.
